Belgium’s latest export, STAKE, have announced signing to Hassle Records (Brutus, Petrol Girls, Pagan), who today release the band’s new single ‘Catatonic Dreams’ and will be releasing their debut EP of the same title on 24th May.

The physical-only 12″ vinyl EP will feature 2 other new and exclusive tracks, ‘Everybody Knows’ and ‘The Kindly Ones’. Preorder: https://stakeband.bandcamp.com/

Discussing debut STAKE single ‘Catatonic Dreams’ vocalist Brent Vanneste explained: ‘This track is the ideal step up towards STAKE’s debut album. It summarises our rough, yet warm schizophrenia perfectly. We feel this is the first time we’ve been able to capture the eclectic and intense live vibe of the band. From STAKE you can expect more morbid tracks, with a romantic drive.”

The music is loud, hard, and uncompromising.  Something carried on from the bands previous incarnation ‘Steak Number Eight’ who, right upto their metamorphosis were selling out Belgium’s biggest venues, played every serious rock festival across mainland Europe, and had been on the road supporting the likes of Mastodon, Dillinger Escape Plan, and Deftones. A brand new chapter with an unseen energy, producing a unique hyper atmospheric and grunge-influenced melodic post-metal is now upon them.

Red Bull recently released a short documentary, showing the band’s development which you can view HERE
