BAND OF THE DAY: BANG BANG ROMEO

Published:

Doncaster’s finest Bang Bang Romeo are back with their brand new single ‘Shame On You’. Having just signed a worldwide record deal with Eleven Seven Label Group, the female-fronted alt-rock trio are excited to share the next wave of music from their eagerly anticipated debut album, which is due for release this October via Five Seven Records.

With an electrifying chorus, ‘Shame On You’, continues to demonstrates a band on the rise. They explain, “‘Shame On You’ is about two negative magnets constantly drawing themselves to one another. We know it’s going to end in tears, waking up the morning after with a broken heart, but we’re each other’s doomed ‘Ying and Yang’, and that’s just the way it is.”

It follows on from the previously released tracks ‘Chemical’ and ‘Natural Born Astronaut’, which earned them support from Huw Stephens (Radio 1), Tom Robinson (BBC 6 Music), Virgin Radio and Radio X as well as acclaim from NME, The Sun, The Daily Star, The Independent, Clash, tmrw magazine, Louder Than War and even Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi.

Fronted by vocal powerhouse Anastasia Walker, featuring Ross Cameron (guitars) and Richard Gartland (drums), Bang Bang Romeo are a propelling force for female-fronted bands in a male dominated industry, and a strong and open voice for the LGBT community. Anastasia’s “once in 20 years voice” is unrivalled and the group’s larger-than-life performances are sending audiences wild up and down the country, leaving them with jaws dropped and often reduced to tears.

2017 saw the band travel across the country, touring relentlessly including shows at the O2 Arena VIP Lounge with The Foo Fighters and The Killers headlining the main events, a UK tour for ‘This Feeling’ alongside The Shimmer Band as well as appearing at countless UK festivals such as Reading, TRNSMT, The Great Escape, Y-Not and Liverpool Sound City.

The band are returning to this year’s Isle Of Wight Festival, which is celebrating its landmark 50th Anniversary, where they have been specially chosen by promoter John Giddings to open the event on the main stage ahead of headliners Kasabian.

They will also be performing at Tramlines, Victorious and Kendal Calling this summer and joining Electric Six as the main support at their London Nambucca show on August 23rd.

Bang Bang Romeo are one of the most exciting upcoming bands of 2018. They have been out in New York and LA working with a whole host of chart-topping Billboard producers, and are currently putting the finishing touches to their wildly inventive debut album.
