Damian finds a Brightside out of the Killers man’s solo show (see what we did there?!)

I arrived just before Mr Flowers hit the stage to a heaving Sold out O2 Academy.
The lights dim and the stage is bathed in a purplish glow as each musician arrives on stage.

When our host appears, all hell breaks loose but he calmly gets the evening underway with “Dreams Come True” from his recently released album “The Desired Effect.”

This is quickly followed by “Cant Deny My Love” before another solo track from his previous release Flamingo is shared in the shape of “Crossfire.”

Flowers is dressed in a very Vegas style black jacket and takes a small breather to explain the next song we are about to hear. This is “Magdalena” again from his debut album. His story went that track is written about an annual pilgrimage that is taken in October, from Nogales for approximately 60 miles and ending at Magdelena. Pilgrims undertake this journey to gain forgiveness and blessings – which is good to know.
Soon after this is the first Killers number that we get to hear and it`s an altered version of “Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine” from the Hot Fuss album. The next two tracks in this high tempo, high energy show are from the new release in the shape of “Lonely Town” and “Diggin up the Heart”

Another Killers tune “Read my mind” from the Sam`s town album is played before we get a cover of the INXS track “Don’t Change.” More solo songs come in the form of “Swallow”, “The Way its always been” and “Only the young” before the set is closed with a remix of the Killers “Mr Brightside”

A couple of minutes break then our star returns in a Gold jacket and launches into the final three songs from the recent release with “Untangled love”, “I Can Change” – which is completed with a sample from Bronski Beat`s “Small Town Boy and “Still Want You.”

This was a very fast paced, high energy concert with a quality lightshow and backing band. I would even say a very Las Vegas glittery show which I must admit, I really enjoyed.

Tonight was the last night of the UK leg of the tour before it heads to Europe.

It was a very entertaining night and I felt that Mr Flowers shone like he meant it !!
