DAYS LIKE THESE

Published:

MCC/Curb Records recording artist Jackson Michelson debuts a new version of his sentimental song, “One Day,” with his longtime musical hero and country hitmaker, Collin Raye (“Little Rock,” “One Boy, One Girl,” “That’s My Story”). The reimagined version of the song is available at radio and all digital streaming platforms now. A “Behind The Song” video is also available for fans to watch. Listen to the fresh collaboration HERE.

Like a series of Polaroids where life is flashing before your eyes, the nostalgic track is a reminder that time is fleeting, and our kids are only little once. Sitting on two separate ends of the parenting spectrum, Raye provides the perfect contrast in perspective to Michelson—a father of three young children—on the updated iteration of “One Day.” The beautiful ode to parenthood reveals its magic in the ordinary details of everyday life, proclaiming: “One day he’s gonna want my keys / One day she’ll be seventeen, running down the stairs in a prom dress / And we’ll be saying time went by fast / Wishing we could get some back.”

“Growing up, Collin Raye was my musical hero. Never in my wildest dreams did I think one day I would be able to sing a song with him,” shares Michelson. “It’s a true honor to be able to create with him and to sing such a personal song. I’m so glad he connects with the song on such a deep level. He did an incredible performance on the song,” Michelson continues. “I’m excited to share this version of ‘One Day’ with the world. It’s my hope that it inspires people to live in the moment and soak in the time they have with the ones they love.”

Raye also adds, “Jackson is exactly, and I mean exactly, what country music needs today: a truly solid songwriter and a great, great singer.  He also possesses that certain ‘it’ factor that’s hard to describe, yet so obvious when you’re around him. You noticeably feel like you’re in the presence of someone very special. It was a tremendous honor for me to sing with him, especially on a song that hits so close to home for me personally. I now am Jackson’s biggest fan.”

Michelson co-wrote “One Day” with Matt Alderman and Justin Ebach. The track was produced by Jeff Pardo.

ABOUT JACKSON MICHELSON:
Curb Records recording artist Jackson Michelson’s previous releases and powerful arrangements have been praised for “staying atop the beat to drive it through to the end” (Taste of Country). The promising rising star grew up in the “Grass Seed Capital of the World,” Corvallis, Oregon, listening to the sounds of his mother’s favorite country songs and father’s soul. Always looking up to his older brother who toured as a Christian artist, Michelson joined him on the road to help sell merch while taking everything in and making a to-do list all his own. After returning home with an undeniable fire lit inside of him, Michelson started playing in bands throughout his hometown while writing songs that balanced high-energy hooks with good natured storylines. Songs like “The Good Life” have been embraced by many and earned the support of SiriusXM’s The Highway, which helped Michelson reach new fans across the country. Before he knew it, his schedule was filled with over 200 shows a year, including opening slots for Blake Shelton, Lee Brice, Frankie Ballard and more. Looking ahead, Michelson is excited for the next chapter of his ‘good life’ — one he’s built himself, show by show, and song by song — with new cities to play, songs to be written and opportunities to explore. Michelson recently released a reimagined version of his current nostalgic single, “One Day,” as a duet with his longtime musical hero, Collin Raye.

ABOUT COLLIN RAYE:
Contemporary country star Collin Raye burned up the sales charts in the 90’s, thanks to a blend of country-rock tunes and socially conscious material. Nothing if not passionate, Raye’s soulful delivery set the country standards with searing ballads as “Love, Me,” “In This Life,” “Not That Different” and “If I Were You,” while also blazing through the other side of the spectrum with vivid rockers like “My Kind of Girl,” “That’s My Story,” “I Can Still Feel You” and “I Want You Bad.” With 24 Top 10 records, 16 No. 1 hits, and a 10-time Male Vocalist of the Year nominee, Raye remains one of the great voices of our time. Now, Collin is releasing his first album of all-new material in over a decade.
