Retro occult black metallers, THE SPIRIT have been making waves on the European underground scene since self-releasing a strictly limited version of their debut album Sounds From The Vortex. The band is now reissuing their icy black / death metal chimera through Nuclear Blast on August 10th. The seven virtuosic tracks by the quartet hailing from Germany pay tribute to the past, inducing nostalgia with their clashing melodies and authentically rough retro sound.
Today, the band has released the first single from the album in the form of a lyric video. ‘The Clouds Of Damnation’ is a 7-minute burst of unfiltered emotions and fast-paced guitar solos. Watch and listen, here:

The band will perform an album release show at this year’s Party.San Open Air – fans can also witness the band’s sinister live performance at Summer Breeze and Metal Invaders. The quartet will join label mates KATAKLYSM and HYPOCRISY in Oct / Nov on the extensive “Death … Is Just The Beginning” European tour.
