HARLEY AND KIMBRO RIDE AGAIN

Published:

Martin Harley & Daniel Kimbro are a dynamic transatlantic duo consisting of slide guitar, double bass and brotherly harmonies. Earlier this year they filled London’s Union Chapel in Islington, cementing their reputation in the UK’s burgeoning Americana scene. Captivating and never predictable these “Musicians at the top of their game” (Music Riot) are always seeking to push the boundaries of blues, folk and American roots music. Original compositions, soulful vocals, improvisation and good humoured banter are the cornerstones of their live shows – Spellbinding” said The Observer.

Between them they are regularly visible on the world’s stages and have performed at Glastonbury, The Royal Albert Hall, Grand Ole Opry, New Orleans Jazz Fest, The Blue Note, Transatlantic Sessions and many more.

Martin Harley grew up in South East London heavily influenced by the decades of blues music synonymous with the area. Total Guitar rated him at #16 in their best acoustic guitarists in the world 2017. Harley is a rambler, a story teller, and a highly original slide guitarist. “No doubt that he is a slide guitar master. He is the business” Roots Magazine

From an early age Daniel Kimbro performed in Appalachian and Bluegrass bands throughout East Tennessee before studying double bass at the local university. He’s a member of the Grammy-nominated Jerry Douglas band and recently toured with the Transatlantic Sessions.

Their most recent album, Static in the Wires, was recorded in Nashville and follows their 2015 debut Live at Southern Ground. The album features 14-time Grammy winner Jerry Douglas along with Derek Mixon (Chris Stapleton) and Micah Hulscher (Alabama Shakes, Margo Price).
