I PREDICT A RIOT…..

Published:

Fast rising dirty southern rock n blues mavericks, Gorilla Riot announce a new single, Young Guns and a raft of UK show dates. Young Guns is taken from their forthcoming album which is slated for release early in November, in Digital, CD and Vinyl formats on Off Yer Rocka Recordings (OYR).

Young Guns will be released across all digital and streaming platforms on Fri 12 July 2019. It will be accompanied by a lyric video produced by Studface Productions. https://youtu.be/TIpUqU_6fBc

Young Guns tells the tales of the Riot’s frontman, Arjun Bhishma’s debauched time in Edinburgh, Scotland, whereas a young man he lived from one party to the next, experiencing and living in the moment with a group of friends as only ‘young guns’ can.

Arjun Bhishma, said, “The song is about an adventure I had when I was living up in Edinburgh. I lived a ludicrous life up there with my mates. This song was a way for me to remember those hazy days with admiration. All we had was the next party, who knows where we would end up?

He added, “It has a straight up rock ‘n’ roll riff that I came up with whilst messing around with a few licks on the guitar. I felt an Aerosmith vibe from it so I took the whole song in that direction. As a band we stuck to that feel, whilst still sounding like us. The chorus and chords are simple and memorable – it’s a feel good rock tune.

“As always we laid down the drums in the ‘proper’ studio and then worked on the rest at GRHQ in a room above a lawn tennis club. Once we got David Thomas’ drums sent from the studio, we recorded all of the guitars sat on a large stuffed jungle cat. It really amped up the atmosphere!”

Gorilla Riot are a 5-piece dirty rock n’ roll blues machine from Manchester, England. Using a 3-prong guitar attack with multi-part vocal harmonies; they play raucous blues-based rock, combining elements of grunge, stoner, and country to create a full-on high energy show.

Created by mainman, Arjun Bhishma, he surrounded himself with the best talent in Manchester to form Gorilla Riot.  Arjun, Liam Henry (guitars & vocals), Charly T. (guitars & vocals), James Degnen (bass), have been recently joined by Will Lewis on skins.

Equally at home acoustically or electrically they released their last studio work in May 2018. American Honey Vol 1 saw the guys extend their sound and song-writing prowess with 3 new songs plus an exquisite re-working of their hit song, Last Hymn.

Gorilla Riot recently announced that they have signed a 2-album deal with Off Yer Rocka Recordings, the first of which will be released later in Nov 2019.

Having played in Spain and France earlier this year, they now return home to complete their album and to play a range of headline, support and festival shows.
