Julia Othmer is set to release her debut UK single “Purple And Gray” on the 30th November 2018 on Frickin’ Awesome Records distributed by Orchard.   November and December 2018 will make her debut in the UK performing solo shows and opening for The Alarm throughout the UK.

Kansas City native, singer and pianist Julia Othmer first came to prominence in the USA after winning an award at the prestigious Billboard World Song Contest. Since then she has been fine tuning her sound around her intimate songwriting. Reminiscent of an early Annie Lennox in both craft and performance, Julia merges emotive lyrical content, instantly memorable songs and a captivating live show. Julia’s songwriting has seen her music included in the likes of critically acclaimed USA TV series “Witches Of East End”, “Party Of Five”, “Switched At Birth” and huge USA TV franchise “DeGrassi” (“Degrassi: The Next Generation”) amongst others.

After touring extensively in her home nation, the Los Angeles resident is finally set to release her debut single in the UK and Europe with the breathtaking “Purple And Gray”. The song, a collaboration with writing partner and producer James “JT’ Lundie (who has worked with the likes of Tom Baxter and Real World recording artist Charlie Winston), is the perfect showcase for Othmer’s exquisite song writing and beautiful vocals. Soaked in soul, the track builds into a swirling and compelling chorus.

“Purple And Gray” is the first track to be taken from Julia’s forthcoming debut UK album “Sound”, set for release in early 2019.

“…at ease and relaxed at the piano, as if it was a good friend…her singing voice was strong and uncompromising, her playing direct.” – NYC Examiner

Julia’s soulful vocals are at their best live. An accomplished and powerful performer she was invited to play at the legendary Lilith Fair festival in the USA and has shared the stage with acts such as Sarah McLachlan, Emmylou Harris, Heart, Amanda Palmer, Ingrid Michaelson, Regina Spektor, Amos Lee, and John Waite among others. Julia is represented in the UK by Neil O’Brien Entertainment (Dionne Warwick, Beth Hart, 10,000 Maniacs).

Julia recently captivated USA audiences as special guest to The Alarm. Following one show, Mike Peters then requested her to complete more USA dates and join the band across the UK. Full tour dates are as follows.
