Aurora show off album with hometown show

Having released their debut album, Faith/Breaker, on October 23 to much roar,AURORA have yet to show off the live beast inside the belly of the record.
Rectifying this, the Midlands metallers will be playing a hometown album release show at The Rainbow, in Digbeth, Birmingham, on November 14.
But, this isn’t going to be any usual metalcore gig. Hitting the stage with gut-wrenching growls and face-hurting riffs, AURORA, who are signed to In At The Deep End Records (Architects, Sylosis, The Defiled, and Feed The Rhino) will be showing fans, and those just curious to see what they have become since the departure of frontwoman Jess Calvesbert and the appointment of Rhys Whitehouse.

Receiving great acclaim from the blogesphere for Faith/Breaker, Daniel King of Mind Noise Network is vouching for the new sound of AURORA. In his review of the debut LP, he said: “The emergence of a new metal band from Birmingham will often raise the same old tired comparisons. Metalcore quintet AURORA won’t be standing for any of those though. They’re bringing something different to the Midlands faithful.”
With support coming from Disbeliever, This Memory, Incarcerate, and In Depths, AURORA will be playing tracks live from their latest release, including first single ‘Raindance’, which was released in June, and second single title track ‘Faith/Breaker’, which was released via a video exclusive championed by AltSounds, and from their earlier releases, including 2012 EP Easily Broken.
Bassist Josh Hammond said the band had been itching to get the album out on the airwaves, which was two years in the making, and feels like the risk of swapping from a frontwoman to a frontman was the right choice for the Birmingham-based band.
He said: “Since swapping vocalists, it feels like new life has been breathed into us again, and we’re very excited about what the future holds.
“Faith/Breaker, the first release with Rhys, is heavier compared to our previous material, but we aimed to set the bar higher for ourselves and I think we achieved that.”
