Following the news of their two now sold out shows at London’s Electric Ballroom on Fri 9th and Sat 10th March, The Hold Steady have announced a third, very special London live date. On Sunday 11th March the band will host a special Sunday Roast Dinner at The Lexington, before playing the venue that night.
The Sunday Roast Ticket is an exclusive opportunity to have a very British Sunday Roast with the band before the show. Food choices are organic pork belly, fire roasted free-range chicken or a vegan fruit and nut roast. Due to space these tickets are very limited, making this an amazing intimate opportunity to spend with The Hold Steady. Tickets go on sale HERE on Weds 14th Feb at 9am GMT.
Here’s a message from Craig:
“In 2007, before we went to tour the UK extensively for the first time, we did a bunch of interviews to promote the tour. We kept getting one question over and over: “Is THS too American to connect outside of the States?” After all, we were promoting a record called “Boys and Girls in America”. I usually answered by saying that I hoped we were writing songs that used specific details to explain something universal and I hoped people would get that and react to it.
A few weeks later we were in the UK, and it most certainly felt like there was a reaction. It was a whirlwind in the best sense of the word- a very special time for the band that took us to a lot of cool places but none that have given us quite as much love as the UK has. Since then we’ve played a ton of shows over there, made amazing memories, and built friendships that have changed all of us for the better.
Thus, we are so excited to be back to play these shows in London in March, and quite excited to add another intimate performance to the weekend at The Lexington. Funny enough, the Lexington is just down the street from what was often our London home base – the Jury’s Inn on Pentonville Road (now a Doubletree I think). The bar at that hotel has seen THS at our best and worst, but certainly is part of the story. Very happy that the story continues and we are able to spend time and play music for the amazing community of our friends in London. We hope you’ll be a part of it.”
