Houston-based alt-Americana act, Buxton recently stopped by Candyland Recording Studio in Dayton, KY to take part in the SofaBurn Presents: Live Video Series. The series, which is sponsored by the record label, SofaBurn, encourages local and touring artists to record a song, ‘Live in the room’ with little or no overdubs to capture the spirit and energy of live music. The song featured here is, “This Place Reminds Me of You” from Buxton’s latest LP, ‘Stay Out Late’, the band’s third for the New West imprint.

Singer Sergio Trevino had this to say about the band’s instinctive approach to writing and playing together: “Looking at Stay Out Late now, I think it’s a reflective album. It’s almost like looking at your past in a mirror. Looking back at time, love, music and growing older. I think that a lot of this album is about being comfortable in one’s own skin.”

The audio was recorded and mixed by Mike Montgomery. The video was shot and edited by Brian Kast.
