PEARCE GOES HOME

Published:

Matt Pearce & The Mutiny are sharing a new lyric video for ‘Gotta Get Home’  – the radio edit of the epic title track from their hugely successful album of the same name, which has been playlisted by Planet Rock. The band are also delighted to announce the support for their forthcoming headline gig in the form of blues rockers Trident Waters.

Musically, ‘Gotta Get Home’ hits and hooks you from the start with raw, bluesy, sleazy opening chords and almost hypnotic groove. Then, in come Matt’s impassioned lead vocals, enriched by soaring female backing: a combo that fuses together perfectly in the glorious chorus and becomes a fully epic sound: the “Funky Souladelic Blues Rock Jam Thing!” that Matt loves so much.

The newly-released video with sci-fi visuals was a deliberate decision, making a nod to the recent 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing; also projecting a sense of ‘home’ on a cosmic stage and scale.

Matt puts it this way: “The reaction to the single has been amazing, Darren Redick and Planet Rock have been so supportive once again. I hope people like the video just as much: it was an idea I had of a much wider idea of where our home is in the scheme of things, perhaps inspired by the recent moon landing anniversary. So it’s one small step for Matt…”

Matt certainly hasn’t been standing still since that first step. He and The Mutiny have been striding forth!

Not only have Matt Pearce & The Mutiny recently announced that they will be undertaking their first UK tour (as special guests of Laurence Jones, between November and December), they’re now delighted to announce further details of the debut Mutiny headline show atLondon’s Thousand Island on 26th September!

I cannot wait for our first headline gig in my adopted home of London, at the very groovy Thousand Island, upstairs from the legendary Garage! says Matt, “It’ll give me a chance to play a longer set, maybe chuck in a bit of new stuff and the odd cover. Whatever makes it a funky night!

And,” he adds “I’m very happy to have the awesomeupandcoming Trident Waters open the night, these guys are a band to watch in the future.”

Trident Waters are a rising, London-based, three-piece rock/blues band,  lauded as the “offspring of a whiskey-drenched Led Zeppelin and Hawkwind”. They’ll perfectly complement the headliners and add extra lift and thrust to what’s going to be a roof-raising night as Matt Pearce & The Mutiny make their triumphant headline debut!
