Intrigued? You should be.

Zeal & Ardor have offered the first visual from new album ‘Devil Is Fine’, out February 24, 2017. The video for the title track “Devil Is Fine” premiered via Noisey in the USA, UK, and across Europe. Watch the powerful, arresting clip here – https://noisey.vice.com/en_uk/article/de-nieuwe-video-van-zeal-and-ardor-is-griezelig-goed. Already released in the USA, Noisey US recently rated the album #6 in their Top 100 Albums of 2016, between Kanye West and Beyonce. The title track landed the #11 spot in their Top 100 Songs of 2016 as well.

Zeal & Ardor have been generating significant buzz online for the past year – it’s growing louder by the day. With accolades piling up from the aforementioned Noisey, Rolling Stone, and Alternative Press, the project is poised to grab further global attention in 2017 with the UK/European release of the album and extensive touring, including a debut show in London in April.
‘Devil Is Fine’ mixes a variety of genres, including black metal, blues, and more, while the lyrics are delivered in the fashion of slave spirituals sung by chain gangs.
Zeal & Ardor is the one-man brainchild of Manuel Gagneux, a Swiss-American formerly based in New York City. His approach draws on an alternate history and stems from two thoughts: Christianity was imposed upon American slaves, just as it was imposed in Norway, and black metal in the ’90s grew as a rebellion to monotheism. What would have happened if American slaves had rebelled in the same way? Or put bluntly: What would satanic spirituals sound like?
