Anticipating their forthcoming new album A Man With A Gun Lives Here, Italian folk-blues six piece Ho.Bo. is thrilled to announce the release of their third single A Tiny Man Called Smith (feat Swanz The Lonley Cat).

A Tiny Man Called Smith is the third single taken from the band’s new album; compared to the previous releases, where the blues tendencies were dominant, this track has a more folk vibe. In the innocence of joyful and carefree chords the song tells the tale of the crime consumed at the expenses of the poor Smith, wrongly identified for a greedy tinsmith with debt problems.A Tiny Man Called Smithfeatures Swanz – The Lonley Cat, founder and frontman of Italian band Dead Cat In A Bag, on vocals, banjo and harmonica.
Singer and guitarist Samuel Manzoni comments:“‘A Tiny man Called Smith’ is a gently rocking, yet grotesque track, and is the product of a fortunate collaboration with Swanz the Lonely Cat. The song is about a minute man called Smith, who has been killed by mistake, because of his surname. The video was shot by Plastikwombat, and myself and Swanz play the roles of both the two protagonists and also of the two gravediggers. Plastikwombat have been brilliant in helping us creating a video that draws the viewer in the story.”
Ho.Bo formed in 2017 as a creative project by musicians who wanted to pursue their own sound. The band’s unique take on folk and blues clearly transpires from their debut studio album 2/10, released in February 2019 via NostudioRec, Kono Dischiand La Mansarda. The band created an unusual blend of deep blues and alternative folk, with Southern nuances and occasional bows to singer-songwriters style. The album was created and developed with an old school approach, recording all the tracks in analogue with original tape.
The band comments: Ho.Bo, comes from Homeward Bound, it’s a journey in which musical adventures and outside contaminations play the prime part. Genres and experiences are collected during endless cultural voyages and elaborated with personal sensitivities. “Dark-folk”, “swamp blues”, “alt-country” o “Americana” are only but a few of the ingredients constituting this uncommon recipe.
