With his main employers Danny & The Champions Of The World on downtime, guitarist Paul Lush emerges with his first solo album.
Of sorts: modest to a fault, rather than putting it out under his own name, the album And there It Is is being issued under the nom de band Araluen. He’s joined on the album by guest lead vocalist Angela Gannon from The Magic Numbers
Best known as one of the go-to guitarists on the UK Americana circuit, Paul has leant his chops to numerous recordings and gigs by the likes of fellow Australian Emily Barker, Rockingbirds frontman Alan Tyler, pedal-steel virtuoso BJ Cole and London Ameripolitan artist Simon Stanley Ward. However, he’s also a prolific songwriter, earning a CMAUK Song Of The Year award for co-writing The Champs’ ‘Clear Water’ from the album What Kind Of Love.
Aside from Angela, Paul has gathered a host of guest musicians for the project including colleagues from The Champs and members of The Tree-Top Flyers and Kiwi janglers The Mutton Birds.
And There It Is is set for release on 29 January. It’s available to pre-order here.
